This month, Grapevine Movies has come around a little sooner than usual. This is so that we don’t clash with the million and one other events that will take place later in December!
We are showing the new film Yesterday.  This film is just great! It is a real British film and it is definitely NOT based on a true story!!
It is the story of Jack Malik (Himesh Patel), a struggling singer-songwriter in a tiny English seaside town. His dreams of fame are rapidly fading, despite the fierce devotion and support of his childhood best friend, Ellie (Lily James). Then, after a freak bus accident during a mysterious global blackout, Jack wakes up to discover that nobody on the planet can remember The Beatles – indeed The Beatles have never existed. Thus, as the only person in the whole world who knows all, or indeed any, of the Beatles songs, he finds himself with a very complicated problem indeed!
The film also stars Ed Sheeran, Meera Syal, Sanjeev Bhaskar, James Corden, Sarah Lancashire and Robert Carlyle – and pretty much the entire Beatles back catalogue!
It is directed by both Richard Curtis (Four Weddings, Love Actually, Notting Hill, Bridget Jones  and  TV’s The Vicar of Dibley) and Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire.)
We are having Tartiflette for this months Supper at Seven, which will be warming and filling on a cold winter’s night.
