Hero Awards

Above and Beyond

The Hero Awards were presented on Friday 11th to the 16 individuals in the Parish who had been voted for by the Community.

Two very worthy recipients were Nicola O’Hare, Head of Sarratt School and Zoe Rodney, Sarratt School Catering Manager.

During the Pandemic lock down and whilst all schools were closed these two ladies opened up each day to welcome the key worker’s children. Every day the children were cared for, educated and even exercised to Joe Wicks each morning! Apparently Nicola and Zoe got quite a bit fitter due to the whole situation.

Zoe provided nutritious meals for the key worker children and also on top of that made many meals each day for those in the Parish who were shielding, and also the vulnerable and elderly who need meals provided by meals on wheels. Something she has continued to do and plans to keep going.

The ladies were delighted with the Award and said that despite the circumstances of the lock down they both agreed that they had enjoyed the whole challenge with the children.
