walk,talk happy

Everyone is welcome on Monday 8th October from 2.15 – 4.00 pm

Let ’s get Talking, Walking and Networking! Clare Concannon will be sharing her insights with us at the  October Cafe!

Talking, walking and networking has become the creative inspiration and best kept secret of success behind this new community initiative. Research concludes the best way to stimulate new ideas is to get active. Why wait for the storm to pass, start a new dance in the rain!”

Clare Concannon did exactly that when she moved into the local area over eight years ago, signing up for the first Strictly Come Hospice dance competition; meeting new companions along the way.

Networking is not a natural step for everyone, it took her own business mentor to encourage Clare to see the true value of it. Mentors see what you miss, roll on too many years to mention, Clare is a qualified and experienced Trainer, Mentor and facilitator.  www.positiveexperiencetraining.co.uk.

Also balancing being a part-time carer for her mother she joined Carers in Herts.  Supporting the voice of carers and working with practitioners to improve the wellbeing of carers and their patients. More information about Carers in Herts and the support they offer will be available on the day.

One of Clare’s first mentee’s has set up www.buddywith.org.uk. The concept of buddying-up is a key theme for of our event on Monday 8th October. In the 1960’s Stanley Milgram devised the six degrees of separation using snail post / post-cards around the world to make connections. He concluded that most people are connected to each other through a chain of about six acquaintances.

You do not have to wait so long, pop in and join us on the day, bring a buddy or meet a new one there; it’s fine to have some quiet solo time too! Clare and the hosts will help you to embrace the joys of networking as and when you are ready! You then have the option of reaching beyond the table and into the creative space of our splendid surroundings at this lovely time of year.

Others joining us on the day are: Michelle Kaye author of Eat Shine Dance so if you missed her last month or would like to see more; you have another opportunity to connect.

Jacky Fitzgerald – Hertfordshire Health Walks

Nick Mortimer – Sarratt Parish Council
